AN IMAGINARY CONVERSATION WITH GOD! PART 8

Aspire to enjoy your temporary living as much as you can, and be not diverted by any obsession to do the bidding of the gods, whose bid you cannot possible know or comprehend; beyond what other humans tell you it is.

This is a continuation of Taku2u's imaginary conversation with God. In having this conversation, Taku2u is working on the premis that, like a father or mother to their children, God would not object to his children - based on the proposition of the creationists - having an frank and honest conversation with him/her/deity.

T.: So, now, G, if we can move on to have some discussion around what has now become the issue of ‘sexism’ and the apparent and actual oppression of women by men. You will be aware of the  fact that, probably all theistic religions, such as Christianity, Judaism and Islam, place men at the top of the hierarchy latter, with women and children being placed below man.

T.: G, you will also appreciate that, in respect of Christianity, except for the churches in the Americas, and Africa, has made great strides in debunking the idea that man is some how innately superior to women, and that women should treat man as, if you like, master of the realm of human beings. Although the Christian Church is still quite backward in accepting and promoting women to the priesthood and the higher offices of their church, it has, at least in the letter and, to a lesser extent, in practice, accepts that women are equal to men. The fact that this is not fully evidenced as an everyday fact of life, is not only a bad reflection of the Christian Church, but of society in general.

T.: G, what comments would you make about this situation, vis a vis the way how man treats woman as inferior?

G.: As with the ‘tree of life’ issue, T, it seems that I am, again, not going to be able to give you a response which you are going to agree with or accept. As you might expect, however, I am going to refer you back to the authors, the scribes and the prophets who reputedly are responsible for documenting these scriptures which have been cited as the authority on with the respective roles and statuses of man and woman are predicated. As your would have expected, T, if man, as you call him, is to claim superiority over his female counterpart or help mate, as it were, it is quite logical that he would formulate a theory or rationale on which to base his claim of superiority.

G.: You will have seen this reflected all throughout your history and around you at present. Consider, for example, the situation with the past enslavement of people of African origins, by the Europeans? It seems that man does, after all, has some conscience, and can only perpetrate his evil after girding himself with some theorical 'justification.'
Clearly, man is not viable without the contribution of woman to his survival, which might or might not be the case for woman.

It is quite clear that man is a predator, who does not only prey upon the primates or mammals he considers to less intelligent than himself, but he also preys upon his own kind, and probably more so on woman, even though he cannot survive without her. Indeed, you might even consider that man continues to make wars in order to attempt to continue to give pseudo-validity to his claim of superiority over women, arguing that he needs to be there to protect woman from the very wars he has instigated. Of course, the evidence is to the contrary, as it is women and children who suffer most from his pointless wars.

G.: I mean, when you consider the respective roles of man and woman, especially that of gestating and giving birth to children, in whom the future of the human specie is invested, by what logic would a reasonable or wise person argue that man is superior to woman?

To be continued

Do not be afraid to 'talk' to the gods; just be aware that whatever response you get, is either that of your own contemplation or that of those who claim to speak for the gods, but never the response of the gods, who only exist in the minds of humans.
