A THOUGHT FOR NOW - WHY DID DAVID CAMERON CUT AND RUN FROM POLITICS? PART 2

Even if David Cameron's decision to resign from party politics had been influenced by the expediency of wanting to spare his successor some awkwardness, it is certainly not the only or, probably even the main factor. It is likely that David Cameron wanted spare himself the embarrassment and humiliation of having to answer to any of the blame which the FAC has attributed to him.

I believe that Mr Cameron was given prior notice of the damning report of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and that he and the Conservative Party and their advisors, had concluded that the best way of dealing with the implications of the report was for him to resign from politics.

It is surprising that, after the debacle of the Iraq invasion, David Cameron, Barak Obama and the 'Coalition governments' which invaded Libya, still allowed themselves, expediently, to have been motivated by the principle of inteterate addict; namely that, 'it will be different this time.' Irrespective of the fact that some of the key factors of the Iraq disaster was the same as those for the impending Libyan disaster, including the fact that it involved the same culprits, it beginning in March, and that it involved the destruction of the country's administrative system and infra-structure.

Adverse history is fated to repeat itself because too many leaders refuse to learn the lessons they need to learn from it, and, instead chose to place their own interpretations on the know and unknown events.

And so we have it, that, between the two of them, David Cameron and Francois Hollande are largely responsible for two of the probably most detrimental events in Europe and the world in 21st Century. Namely those arising from the overthrow of the Libyan Government, and Britain's vote to leave the European Union.  How intriguing that the consequences - the chaos in Libya and its undermining impact of the surrounding countries and the migrant exodus it has given rise to, combined migrant induced instability in the European Union - of both events are interlocked and is helping to pull Europe apart.
