JUST A THOUGHT - ON HOW 'FAILING COUNTRIES' IN THE AMERICAS CANNOT RESOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS BY RETURNING TO THE 'OLD WAYS.' PART.9.

And so we have a situation where the feared and actual socio-impact of the newcomers.  Is fed into the political life of the host country, with all of its undesirable appeal to 'nationalism', and, yes, fascism.

The same socio-economic, cultural and political factors which are driving parts of the poor and the economically challenged populations.

To see refuge and 'prosperity' in the more affluent countries of Europe and North America.

Are, to a lesser extent, also factors which are at work in these host countries. They, also, have their 'haves and their havesnot' sections of their populations.

They, also, have their their political agitators, their gang leaders, their corrupt and venal politicians and businessmen.

Who are always on the lookout to take hold of new opportunities and exploit them to acquire and exercise more power and make more money.

Considered objectively, which is not the same as looking at the problem or challenge compassionately or with humility.  Neither of which are fundamental ingredients in the oftentimes exploitative world of capitalism.

We can understand why people in the host countries can become burdened with fear and hostility towards newcomers; immigrants and refugees and migrants.

They tend, probably correctly, sometimes, to view 'uncontrolled and unplanned mass movement of people from other countries' as 'people coming to take what we have and have worked for.'  '

To take our houses', 'our jobs', 'our school places', etc, etc.

To be continued!
