It would be taking the path which the likes of Hungarian Prime Minister, the American President, and others such as Brazil's new President, have taken.
The route which they believe is going to lead them to their individual nervana, El Dorado. Is going to make them prosperous, again, if ever they had been.
And yet, even if, by some chance, miracle even, one or more of them were to achieve their goal, at whatever cost.
It is most unlikely that they would be able to sustain it for more than a relatively very short period of time. Even if that should be for 8 or 10 years.
But, what the hell, you might think or ask? Is that not the way of humans; that they should build and make progress, and then embark on a period of destruction of what they have built?
As if, for some probably inexplicable reason, they/we are incapable of preserving and improving what we have built.
As if we become bored with our accomplishment, our achievements, and are more exercised with the concept and practice of building, destroying, building ..
At whatever cost, including the absence of 'master builders and the avoidable loss of numerous lives and livelihoods.
While it is the case that there is fortunes and riches to be made out of misfortune, out of great instability and suffering.
Like the funeral industry which strives on death, the same deaths which, although inevitable, so, also, is the path which the British government and half of its people, in pursuing Brexit.
Are taking a path which, ultimately, could prove to be very destructive and costly in avoidable economic, political and social problems for millions of people.
Both in the United Kingdom and in other countries.
The British Prime Minister, Mrs May, is being motivated by her belief that she must deliver what 52 per cent of the British electorate wants, and that for her to review the electoral verdict of 2016, by having another referendum on the European Union.
Would be threatens the stability of Britain's cohesion. This, clearly, is not the case, as the current chaos and impasse already threatens Britain's cohesion.
There is, of course, that much bigger threat to Europe's cohesion, which is already under great stress.
And this threat is made much bigger by Britain leaving the European and attempting to go it alone.
An act which would certainly embolden and strengthen the march of the now more restrained forces of 'national socialism', of rightwing fascism and racist.
Her imprudent and bullish approach towards leading her country, can only result in more grief for Britain and the world.
