JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON WHAT GOD HAS TO DO WITH IT, WITH ANYTHING? THE END......

Just as how it has given birth to so much discordance and factional branches, within its 'family tree.'

As is the case with many other religions, such as Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, et al. Which is, arguably, a clear indication of the origin of religions, and of their non-divine nature.

For those who, in their search for human enlightenment, not being restricted by the myopia of this or that religious dogma.

Go about their quest with an objective and independent eye, ear and intellect. searcher looking for increasing enlightenment.

Which takes us back to the subject of this post; that of, 'what does god has to do with religion?'

The answer to which, I contend, 'is, nothing', when considered objectively or impartially.

But, at the sametime, again, I contend, 'might be everything', as far as theistic religions citing a 'sentient god', is concerned.

In the first instance, God or the gods have nothing to do with religions per se, because they are all about the imagining  and the perceptions of humans, usually Men. And men who have been long dead.

Which is probably why, like their founders, they then to remain unchanging and resistant to evolving into something better than.

Something which is capable of dynamically interacting with the present and the future, and reflecting and changing with it.

And in the case of the God or the gods having everything to do with theistic religions.

This is the case, because these religions need God or the gods to deceive their followers and others that, 'their religion' has validity.

Because it has the backing of their God', who they argue, 'is the real God, the only God.' Thus they need to use God, or the gods, to legitimise their religion, their worldview of their people and other people.

Of the world, and their and other peoples' place in it. And, where their religions contemplate an after life, their believers' and other peoples' places in it.

From which it should be clear that it is the theistic religionists who have the upper hand in their relationship with God/s.

Since it is they who are able to make God or the gods say and do what they want the people to do.

It is they, the religionists who presume to know and tell us what their gods want of humans, as recorded in ancient history.

How powerful it must be the present clergy, in the eyes of the faithful and the deceived, if not the world, to have muted gods and dead Saints and Prophets who cannot challenge the them?
