They cannot have already forgotten the unbearable cost of the Iran-Iraq war.
And yet, however much they hate and have cause to fear war, what are they to do?
What are they to do when their enemies, the government of the United States and its operatives and hired mercenaries, are at their door?
Are they to give up their weapons and surrender their sovereignty and right to determined their own way of living?
They are being forced to fight or surrender. Consequently, the people of Iran do not have a choice; they must fight for their sovereignty.
And in doing so, they will need and have the right to develop and manufacture appropriate weapons to defend themselves from the aggressors who wish to destroy their nation.
All self-respecting and honest countries and governments can or should be able to empathise with that objective.
The fact that countries such as the United Kingdom, France, and probably Germany, and the European Union, are expressing concerns about Iran's development of ballistic missiles.
Are either a reflection of a lack of good faith towards Iran and its right to have the means to defend itself.
Or it is a diplomatic ploy to appease the Trumpists in Washington, by appearing to be 'tough towards Iran.'
What is clear is that Iran and its people have the right to procure, either from other and/or themselves, the necessary means to defend itself.
And that it must do so as soon as possible, with the Trumpists and Israel and their supporters, having expressed their commitment to try to destroy the country and its sovereignty.
Yes, the same sovereignty for which the British feel so strongly, that they are leaving the European Union; at what is appearing to be a pyrrhic price.
After all, it is the West which is laying waste to countries in the ~Middle East, of such magnitude that they are showing themselves to be the equivalent of 'modern day Barbarians.'
