'If you circumscribed or deny people, legally or morally, the space within which they can think and expressed themselves, freely and responsibly, without being labelled 'an enemy to this or to that group or community of people.'
Then, you are more likely to give birth to and/or increase their resentment and sense of grievance towards that group or community of people. ......'
So, I thought, where does that leave and other non-Jewish people; people whom Jews have, at least in the past, referred to as 'gentiles'?
Yes, it left me with the same sense of powerlessness I used to feel when I thought about the Biblical reference in, I believe.
The Biblical Book of Revelations, which spoke of "144,000" people being saved.
What would happen to the rest of humanity? What hope for the non-Jewish populations of the world.
Now, there is a view, a belief even, that all of us humans, are prejudiced towards people of other ethnic, national, cultural and/or religious affiliation.
In fact, it is also known that their is intra-ethnic, intra-religious and intra-cultural prejudices as well.
An example of intra-ethnic prejudice, would be preference that some people from the formerly colonised and/or enslaved societies. for example, Jamaica.
To be continued!
