IMMIGRATION/MIGRATION - THE TRUTH ABOUT GOING AND COMING. THE END...

When we begin to see more people speaking languages which we do not understand.

Wearing clothes which are still, in the slow process of assimilation, perceived as 'exotic', 'foreign.'

When we observe and are require to adjust to living amongst people who, as it were, have other, different religions and seemingly worship different gods than 'our own.'

When we perceive ourselves to be no longer 'the one', 'the main one', but just 'one of many; many different peoples.'

Even if the plan, the aspiration, must now become that of sculpting, engineering a 'new one' from the different and diverse many which fate seemed to have thrown together.

Yes, emigrating and becoming migrants and immigrants is something which we are all in favour of.

Especially when it is us, who, of necessity, free-will, or tragic misfortune, are the migrants or immigrants.

When it is us who must occupy the chair labelled, 'the other' or 'the outsider.'

When it is us, who is being made to feel offended, unwelcomed, stigmatised for having the 'shoe on the other foot', as it were.

So, while it is the case that, at some point, all of us who are having to interact with 'immigrants', 'migrants' and refugees, might feel resentment, intolerance and even anger towards 'them.'

Let us not forget that all or most of us, at some point in our journey, might be fated to become 'immigrants', 'migrants' and/or refugees.

This is something which is probably more likely to occur in the future than it has in the past. As threats such as climate change and reckless over-exploitaiton of the Earth's finite resources increase.
