AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 56.

But no, no one did, and it was left to me to disrupt what seemed like a conspiracy of nobody seeing or hearing what hailed my dear mother, and volunteering to some help.

And so it was that I broke the silence by calling out to a passing but unnoticing nurse.

She seemed not a great deal more confident than I was about how to handle this kind of unexpected emergency.

Nevertheless, she took some appropriate action which led to my dear mother being seen by the Consultant Eye doctor within a matter of minutes which seemed to have still been extended ones.

Being concerned that my dear mother might have had a minor stroke, the Consultant contacted the Stroke Unit in his endeavour to get her an urgent appointment.

By this time my dear mother had regained her composure and shortly after we were discharged to return home to await the appointment from the Stroke Unit.

To be continued!
