AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 64.

Notwithstanding her aches and her pains, most of which will probably remain with her until the end of her days, as it were, and her on-going dissatisfaction with the world and people around her.

My dear mother continue to soldier on, conducting her life with as much character and dignity as she is able to maintain.

Indeed, on our most recent visit to see her, I found it most pleasing to note that it was one of the best days we had had with her, as she was mostly in a positive and amenable frame of mind.

In fact, the only slightly down side was when, having had her dinner interrupted by the arrival of the DN to administer her insulin and test her blood sugar.

My mother returned to restart eating her meal, but not before making the laconic comment:

" But D......, the food nuh good." Whereupon my heart beat probably slowed with my acute feeling of disappointment.

That the soup which, I felt, was a near master piece, should be so cruelly and insensitively, if frankly, dismissed by my dear mother as being "no or nuh good."

To be continued!
