'Holding onto the promise of theistic religions and God.
Is like a drowning man clinging to the root of an unstable tree, as it is eroded by the torrent of a river, and ignoring the hand of the passing boatman.'
Religions and the worship of 'God' have become 'solutions' to a problem which no longer exist.
This is because us humans do not need an omnipotent and omniscient 'God/s' to protect us from the known and unknown dangers and threats anymore.
Evolutionary, scientifically and technologically, we are now grown ups.
We are not able to change or master our common destiny. But we can influence our fate much more than our ancestors had been able to do.
We now know that in as much as the threats and dangers which confront us are 'solvable.' They are the ones which we pose to ourselves.
They are the ones which we can, if we are agreed and committed, solve for ourselves. Because many, if not most of them are our own making.
We know that there is indeed no 'God' or 'Gods' who or which is able to change, or have control over either our fate or and our destiny.
To be continued!
