There are many adjectives which people could and would use to preface their description of any human who would seek to put forward an argument for our species not continuing to have children.
Idiot, fool, miscreant, insane, are but a few of them.
Ok, granted that some of those reactions , would be initial and/or knee-jerk ones, which might or might not be subsequently tempered after the responders engage their intellects.
Granted, also, that 'calmer heads' might prevail after those on whose ears such a shocking and apparently foolish and suicidal proposition were to fall.
When they seek further information about which any human would argue for such finalistic solution to whatever 'problem' human existence poses and confronts.
I can appreciate that any argument or case for not having children, must also be an argument and case for the extinction of the human species.
Yes, I can and would not seek to argue otherwise. Yes, the case for not having children is the very same case for questioning the need for humans to continue to survive, and, according to the Biblical instruction, populate the earth.
Of course, it is patently human and seemingly reasonable, that we should/would not be expected to argue for the demise, the extinction of our own species.
I mean, could anyone who would dare to put forward such an argument, seep to justify it on the basis of, say, 'altruism'?
To be continued!
