Nuclear war is now more likely to occur than it was in the 1960s, even without the 'Cuban Nuclear Weapons Crisis.' How is this likely?

Nuclear apocalypse was postponed in 1968. Now it’s back on the agenda
The problem is partly that the world's leaders need to come together and review and amend the rules.
The problem is also partly about the two-headed Demon: Religion and 'Western Democracy.'
We can see evidence of the latter in Pelosi's crass 'I don't give a damn' attitude in precipitating the current crisis over Taiwan.
We can also see that part of the problem is Putin's shocking and brutal reaction to Nato's expansion into eastern Europe.
Yes, there is no doubt that in this and/or not distant generations, the world is fated to experience the destructive force of nuclear and climate wars.
There is a greater need for world leaders to take a more pragmatic approach towards resolving or alleviating the critical climate and economic problems which threatens humanity and earth.
But all the western leaders are concerned with, is about extending the reach of Christianity and 'western democracy.'
It is about containing Russia and China at any cost, including contributing towards making earth's atmosphere unable to support human life.
